We began in 2013 as a group of licensed tour guides and professional drivers serving guests through Istanbul hotels and travel agencies. For years, we worked behind the scenes as a trusted local supplier for some of the city’s leading hotels—welcoming their guests, guiding their tours and managing their transportation.

Today, Book Private Istanbul brings that same professional service online. You can now plan and book directly with the local team that actually operates your experience, without an unknown third party between us.

Aydın is an Istanbul University graduate with a four-year degree in Tour Guiding and is a licensed professional guide. After nearly 15 years in hotel management and guest relations, as well as international experience on cruise ships and in Dubai promoting Turkish culture and cuisine, he brings both historical knowledge and a rare understanding of what travelers truly expect. An avid reader of Roman, Persian and Ottoman history, he turns complex events into vivid, memorable stories. His exceptional English, warmth, energy and ability to read each group have made him one of the names most frequently mentioned in guest feedback. Within the team, Aydın is one of the central minds shaping the service, a driving force in operations and a key part of how Book Private Istanbul understands and cares for its guests.

An Istanbul University graduate and licensed professional guide, Ruhi also spent more than 15 years as an English teacher. A devoted admirer of Ottoman history and a highly knowledgeable historian, he brings together language, culture and a lifetime of reading. He speaks Turkish, English and Spanish and is valued for thoughtful, detailed explanations that place every monument within its wider historical and cultural world.
